Darshan Thoogudeepa’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar at his residence on Wednesday. This meeting followed Shivakumar's statement offering support to the actor if any injustice had occurred.

Darshan, along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 associates, is currently in jail over the Renukaswamy murder case. Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar mentioned that the meeting was concerning re-admission of Darshan’s son, Vineesh Thoogudeepa, into his school after being shifted to another institution.

Shivakumar clarified his earlier statement of supporting Darshan, attributing it to the actor’s fans demanding justice. The Deputy CM stressed that he would not interfere with the legal proceedings. Meanwhile, political tensions soared as allegations surfaced involving Congress and Enforcement Directorate officials probing a multi-crore scam, with further legal complications ensuing.
