Speaking at the Assembly media point, Rao, attending as the leader of Opposition for the first time, highlighted the absence of new welfare schemes and guarantees for public sections. He labeled the budget as 'anti-poor'.
The Telangana government proposed a budget of Rs 2.91 lakh crore, with Rs 2.21 lakh crore in revenue and Rs 33,487 crore in capital expenditures. The state's debt reached Rs 6.71 lakh crore over ten years.
