Moldovan Finance Minister Petru Rotaru is set to resign from his current role to assume the position of vice president at the country's central bank, according to a parliamentary speaker's announcement on Thursday.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean intends to nominate a successor for the finance ministry post after the parliamentary vote on Rotaru's appointment next Wednesday, stated a government spokesperson via Telegram.
Rotaru will continue to perform his ministerial responsibilities until the vote. He has been at the helm of the finance ministry since September 2023 and was previously the director of the national tax service.
