Jayant Patil Dismisses Alliance with Ajit Pawar's NCP

NCP (SP) leader Jayant Patil categorically rules out an alliance with Ajit Pawar-led NCP. Addressing the press, he highlighted the success of Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) in recent Lok Sabha polls and criticized the Shinde government on several issues, including delays in Maratha quota and insufficient Union budget benefits for Maharashtra.

NCP (SP) leader Jayant Patil categorically ruled out any alliance with the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference, Patil highlighted the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP)'s success in the recent Lok Sabha polls, where it won eight out of ten seats it contested as part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. In contrast, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP only managed to win from Raigad and lost key battles in Baramati and Shirur.

Patil also lashed out at the Eknath Shinde government for delays in granting quota to the Maratha community and for failing to secure benefits for Maharashtra in the Union budget. He asserted that leaders of Maharashtra's ruling alliance lacked influence over the Union government, unlike Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, which secured more funds by pressuring the Centre.

Regarding the upcoming state assembly polls, Patil predicted that the MVA, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress, will win 170 seats in the 288-member House.
