Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday denounced the opposition's walkout during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech, emphasizing that the PM represents the entire country and not just a political faction.
Dhankhar dismissed allegations of partiality, stating that his commitment lies with the Constitution and national interests. During an orientation program for new Rajya Sabha members, he criticized the opposition's tendency to disrupt proceedings.
Dhankhar expressed concern over the strategy of personal attacks and media tactics by some members, urging that national interests should take precedence in Parliamentary debates. He also stated that any topic can be discussed in Parliament if proper procedures are adhered to.
