Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged for coordinated and strong efforts by the central and state governments to achieve the goal of 'Viksit Bharat'. Modi emphasized that both developing heritage and creating a legacy of development are integral to this vision, as per senior party leader Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
Addressing 13 chief ministers and 15 deputy chief ministers from BJP-ruled states during the second day of their two-day 'mukhyamantri parishad' meeting, the prime minister spoke extensively about his government's agenda for making India a USD 5 trillion economy, stressing the importance of public participation in welfare measures.
Sahasrabuddhe, who oversees the party's 'good governance' exercise, noted that Modi also highlighted leveraging social media to maximize the reach of government schemes targeting various groups. Senior BJP leaders, including Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and party national president J P Nadda, attended the governance-focused meeting.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan discussed the New Education Policy and the states' role in its implementation. Various states presented their signature schemes during the meeting.
Modi reiterated to BJP leaders, including chief ministers, the need for saturation coverage of welfare schemes and stressed that BJP-ruled states should set an example of good governance. ''Our Party is working tirelessly to further good governance and fulfil the aspirations of the people,'' he said on X on Saturday. The previous such meeting was held in February this year.
