The Odisha Assembly was thrown into disarray on Monday, witnessing several adjournments as opposition parties BJD and Congress disrupted proceedings. The commotion stemmed from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's announcement on Agniveers' reservation made outside the legislative House, a move that has been called disrespectful by opposition members.

Accusing the Chief Minister of disregarding protocol, Congress member Taraprasad Baninipati moved a breach of privilege notice, demanding the announcement be made within the House. Speaker Surama Padhy, however, stated she would review the notice before any further action, prompting further chaos as opposition members expressed their discontent by storming the well of the House.

The situation escalated with Congress members attempting to climb the Speaker's podium and eventually staging a walkout. Despite multiple adjournments, no resolution could be reached on the privilege notice. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling later reiterated the CM's announcement concerning reservations for Agniveers in state's services, further fueling objections from the opposition.
