Gandhi stated he would raise this issue in Delhi and with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, emphasizing the need for a unique response given the disaster's magnitude.
He pledged that the Congress party would build over 100 houses in Wayanad and called for an urgent, comprehensive action plan to tackle the aftermath.
Gandhi spoke to reporters following a meeting with district officials and Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
District officials briefed them on casualties, destroyed houses, and ongoing search and rescue efforts.
