Chief Minister Eknath Shinde dismissed recent allegations by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray about potential arrests as politically-motivated fabrications, calling it a ‘fake narrative.’
Shinde, who was in Sillod to inaugurate the Ladki Bahin Yojana, said Thackeray was using low-level language and challenged the allegations. The scheme, announced in the recent budget, offers women from families earning less than Rs 2.5 lakh annually a monthly aid of Rs 1,500, among other benefits.
In a swipe at the opposition, Shinde asserted that Thackeray's narrative was baseless, emphasizing the government's continued commitment to women's empowerment even beyond election periods. The opposition has criticized the scheme as financially burdensome, but Shinde assured its continuity and highlighted the government's dedication to women's socio-economic upliftment.
