Congress Rebuts Chouhan's 'Anti-Farmer DNA' Remarks
The Congress responded sharply to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's 'anti-farmer DNA' accusations, stating that continuously blaming Jawaharlal Nehru for failures is getting tedious. Pawan Khera highlighted Congress' significant agricultural achievements, contrasting them with the BJP's alleged shortcomings, such as increased farming costs and unmet promises to farmers.

The Congress on Saturday retorted to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's remarks about its ''anti-farmer DNA'', saying that accusing India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru for ''all your failures'' has become tiresome.
Chouhan had alleged on Friday that the Congress never prioritized the farm sector throughout its post-Independence rule. In a Rajya Sabha discussion, he asserted that the agriculture sector suffered from misplaced priorities under the Congress.
In a counter, Congress' media and publicity head Pawan Khera cited historic agricultural developments during Nehru's tenure and other Congress-led governments, including the Green Revolution and the establishment of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute. He further criticized the BJP's record, including unmet farmer income promises and increased farming costs due to GST.
