Political Sparring Intensifies Over Ayodhya Gang Rape Case

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Keshav Prasad Maurya, has taken a strong stance against the Samajwadi Party following their request for a DNA test of the accused, SP leader Moeed Khan, in the Ayodhya gang rape case. According to Maurya, 'It is the innate nature of SP to save rapists. If the rapist is a Muslim, then the entire 'Saifai' family puts its weight behind saving him. SP will be wiped out,' he remarked in a social media post.

Earlier today, the demand for DNA testing was echoed by Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, who emphasized that such tests should be conducted for justice. In a post, Akhilesh Yadav also supported the call for DNA tests, stating, 'In the case of misdeeds, the way for justice should be found by getting DNA tests done, and not by merely making allegations and doing politics.' He added that if allegations are proven false, responsible officials should also be held accountable.

Meanwhile, the Ayodhya administration took action by demolishing the bakery owned by Moeed Khan, the prime suspect. BSP Chief Mayawati voiced criticism of the SP's requests for DNA testing, questioning how many such tests had been conducted during their tenure. Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad called for a thorough investigation, stating, 'All those involved should face full legal consequences, while urging an end to political exploitation of the incident.'
