Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the pressing issues in the agricultural sector on Monday, stressing the need for cooperation from state governments to achieve farmers' welfare. He vowed to work collectively with states regardless of political affiliations.
Chouhan called for dialogue with farmers and their associations to find solutions, urging political parties to avoid treating farmers as a vote bank. He emphasized the federal spirit, inviting state agriculture ministers to discuss farmers' problems.
In line with PM Narendra Modi's vision, Chouhan expressed optimism that by 2047, India would produce sufficient nutritious food and become a global food basket. He also defended the PM-Kisan scheme and accused the opposition of neglecting farmers' interests.
