Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar issued a stern warning to Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday, admonishing him not to interfere with his spiritual guru Ajjayya. Speaking at the Janandolana meet in Maddur, Mandya, Shivakumar stated, "You don't know my spiritual guru Ajjayya's strength, I know about his capabilities. You leave him out of this. Why did you send BS Yediyurappa, and what happened after you swore on Lord Manjunatha at Dharmasthala? You introspect yourself."

Shivakumar recounted that Kumaraswamy had previously insulted him by questioning his parentage but later apologized at Sathanur. "This is not the DK Shivakumar who will get scared by empty threats and padayatras," he warned. Addressing the BJP's ongoing padayatra, Shivakumar criticized its purpose, saying, "There is no meaning in doing padayatra without answering our questions. You can't even touch CM Siddaramaiah. He is a backward classes leader who has become CM for the second time, and BJP leaders cannot digest this."

Further criticizing Kumaraswamy, Shivakumar accused him of political manipulation and inconsistent statements about family ties. He also mentioned various alleged scams during Yediyurappa's tenure and accused Kumaraswamy of threatening the Muslim community. He asserted that Congress's guarantee schemes will continue as long as the Congress government is in power. Shivakumar emphasized the historical significance of the Quit India Movement day and highlighted the upcoming Janandolana programme in Mysuru.
