Raj Thackeray, chief of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), took a firm stance on Monday against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar following the latter's statement regarding potential Manipur-like disturbances in Maharashtra.
Sharad Pawar's comments came at an event in Navi Mumbai where he stressed the importance of maintaining unity among the state's people. Raj Thackeray, speaking to reporters in Pandharpur, Solapur, questioned Pawar's intentions, asking, "Does he wish a repetition of Manipur here?"
Thackeray also revealed his strategic plans for the upcoming state assembly elections, indicating his desire to field candidates in 225-250 constituencies, independently of the opposition's positioning or specific contestants.
