The combined opposition of BJP and JD(S) intensified their protest march Tuesday, demanding the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over an alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. The week-long Bengaluru-Mysuru padayatre (foot march) is focused on highlighting the alleged fraudulent allotment of sites to land losers, including a plot granted to Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi.
The fourth day of the 'Mysuru Chalo' protest began at Nidaghatta and covers a distance of 20 km to reach Mandya district headquarters. Key figures in attendance included BJP State President B Y Vijayendra, former Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan, and Deputy Leader of Opposition Arvind Bellad, accompanied by many legislators and activists.
An array of party workers and leaders carried BJP and JD(S) flags, shouting slogans against the Chief Minister amidst drum beats. The protest route was decorated with party flags, buntings, and portraits of prominent leaders, creating a lively atmosphere.
