Leaders of the INDIA bloc are expected to hold a critical meeting in New Delhi this week, according to sources on Tuesday.

This gathering represents the first significant assembly of the opposition bloc following the announcement of the Lok Sabha poll results on June 4. Their previous meeting on June 1 had excluded the Trinamool Congress (TMC) due to concurrent state elections in West Bengal. A source confirmed TMC's attendance this time.

Although the meeting date remains undecided, numerous top opposition figures are already in Delhi for the ongoing Parliament session. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray arrived on Tuesday and is slated to meet key opposition leaders. Upcoming state elections in Maharashtra and Haryana are high on the agenda, with the Opposition hopeful of capitalizing on their Lok Sabha performance to challenge BJP's hold. The INDIA bloc, comprising 234 MPs in the Lok Sabha against the NDA's 293, continues to present a united front in Parliament. On Tuesday, INDIA bloc MPs protested at the Parliament gate, demanding the removal of 18 percent GST on life and health insurance premiums. In a show of unity, they had also protested on the 18th Lok Sabha's first session's inaugural day, waving copies of the Constitution. Further, they compelled an election for the Lok Sabha Speaker's post, though Om Birla was elected through a voice vote against Congress' K Suresh.
