India Prioritizes Bangladeshi Interests Amid Political Unrest
India has emphasized the importance of Bangladeshi people's welfare as an interim government takes charge following Prime Minister Hasina's resignation. Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus temporarily leads Bangladesh, with India advocating for peace and stability. New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation, especially regarding minority attacks and Hasina's future travel plans.

India has voiced its commitment to prioritizing the interests of the Bangladeshi people amid the political transition marked by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation and the interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal underscored the urgency of restoring peace and stability in Bangladesh.
Jaiswal stated during a weekly media briefing that every government has a responsibility to ensure the well-being of its citizens. He reiterated India's role as a close friend to Bangladesh and its desire for normalcy to resume in the country swiftly.
Regarding the violent protests and attacks on minority communities, India is closely monitoring the situation. While former Prime Minister Hasina's next move remains uncertain, Jaiswal emphasized India's engagement with Bangladeshi authorities to secure the safety of Indian missions and residents in Bangladesh.
