Rajya Sabha Proceedings Disrupted Amidst Multiple Adjournments

The Rajya Sabha's Friday session experienced numerous interruptions post-lunch, following a morning of heated exchanges between Opposition and treasury benches. Notably, a verbal clash occurred between Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Jaya Bachchan. Deputy Chairman Harivansh adjourned the proceedings several times in the afternoon, citing no specific reason.

On Friday, the Rajya Sabha faced multiple adjournments during its post-lunch session. The disruptions followed a morning session marked by contentious exchanges between the Opposition and treasury benches over various issues.

Earlier in the day, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and actor-politician Jaya Bachchan were involved in a verbal confrontation. Bachchan took exception to Dhankhar's ''tone'' when granting her permission to speak, prompting the chairman to remind her that even a celebrity must adhere to House decorum.

The afternoon session saw Deputy Chairman Harivansh adjourn the House numerous times; first at 2 pm for half an hour, later at 2:30 pm until 3 pm, and finally at 3 pm until 3:30 pm, each time without providing specific reasons.
