Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar reaffirmed on Friday the Election Commission’s commitment to conducting assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible, despite internal and external challenges.

Kumar led an EC team to review electoral preparedness and discuss issues with political parties. All parties strongly advocated for early elections, emphasizing public enthusiasm and the importance of a level playing field.

Addressing security concerns and recent terror attacks, Kumar expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to handle challenges, ensuring high voter turnout and a smooth election process.
