BJP and Shiv Sena leaders on Friday criticized Uddhav Thackeray's recent visit to Delhi, where he met Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge. They alleged the visit was more about personal gains than state interests.
Thackeray was accompanied by his wife Rashmi and son Aditya during the visit, which failed to secure him the assurance of being the MVA's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls, according to BJP sources. They claimed Thackeray returned empty-handed from the national capital.
Shiv Sena's Lok Sabha MP Shinde stated that unlike the past, when leaders visited Matoshree, the Thackerays now had to camp in Delhi, accusing them of abandoning their ideology. Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye added that the Congress sent a clear signal that it would be the 'big brother' in seat allocation discussions, leaving Thackeray disappointed.
