In one of the deadliest strikes in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, an Israeli airstrike hit a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City early Saturday, killing at least 80 people, as reported by Palestinian health authorities.

The Israeli military acknowledged the strike, asserting that it targeted a Hamas command center within the Tabeen school. Hamas officials, however, denied the presence of militants at the site.

The attack left 47 people wounded and significantly damaged the facility, which, like most Gaza schools, is being used as a shelter against the ongoing conflict.
