NCP leader Sharad Pawar on Sunday faced intense demonstrations from Maratha agitators in Solapur district, who stopped his vehicle and demanded clarity on his stance on the Maratha reservation issue.

Television visuals showcased protesters raising 'Maratha aarakshan' slogans and halting Pawar's SUV near Kurduwadi village, asking for his clear stand on the issue. Despite his support for the reservation, protesters claimed he hadn't been clear enough.

Following this, youths praised quota leader Manoj Jarange and waved black flags during his speech in Barshi town. Police later detained the protestors. Pawar critiqued PM Modi over unfulfilled promises to farmers. Manoj Jarange has been advocating for Marathas to be recognized under the OBC category.
