NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh on Sunday directly challenged Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, questioning the timing and motive behind recent allegations leveled against him. Deshmukh criticized Fadnavis for making accusations 15 days after being “exposed” by him. This marked the latest episode in their ongoing feud.

In a post on social platform X, Deshmukh reiterated his earlier claims that Fadnavis conspired three years ago to imprison ex-CM Uddhav Thackeray and ADCM Aaditya Thackeray. He also accused Fadnavis of using dismissed policeman Sachin Waze and former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh to frame the Thackerays and himself.

Responding to Deshmukh's attack, BJP state spokesperson Chandan Goswami asserted that Fadnavis's statements are based on facts, accusing the MVA coalition of creating baseless narratives. Deshmukh had previously resigned as home minister in 2021 following corruption allegations made by Singh.
