Nepal PM Oli Invites Modi for Visit to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Nepal. The invitation was extended through Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. Oli assumed office for the fourth time last month. Misri also met with former PM Sher Bahadur Deuba to discuss mutual interests and cooperation.
Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli on Sunday extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the Himalayan nation, seeking to strengthen bilateral ties.
The invitation was conveyed through Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who paid a courtesy call on the Nepalese Prime Minister, according to a statement from Oli's secretariat.
Oli, who assumed office for the fourth time last month, assumed power after Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' lost a confidence vote in parliament.
Meanwhile, Misri also met with former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence in Budhanilkantha, on Kathmandu's outskirts. Deuba's office reported that the discussion focused on mutual interests and enhancing Nepal-India cooperation.
