Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has publicly admitted that he made an error by fielding his wife, Sunetra Pawar, against his cousin Supriya Sule in the most recent Lok Sabha elections.
During an interview with Marathi news channel Jai Maharashtra, Pawar stressed the importance of keeping politics out of familial relationships. He is currently on a statewide 'Jan Samman Yatra' to promote the 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana', a scheme aimed at providing financial aid to women.
Reflecting on the election where Sunetra Pawar was defeated by Supriya Sule, Pawar expressed his regret and noted that the decision was made by the NCP's parliamentary board. He vowed to focus only on development initiatives and welfare schemes, steering clear of political squabbles and criticisms.
