Protests Erupt Against Farooq Abdullah for Army Remarks

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal staged protests against National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, demanding an apology for his remarks questioning military efforts against terrorist infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir. Protesters carried the tricolour, raised slogans, and burnt effigies. Abdullah is on a tour preparing for upcoming elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal staged protests on Tuesday against National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, demanding an apology for his controversial remarks about the army. Abdullah had questioned the infiltration of terrorists despite heavy military presence in Jammu and Kashmir.

Leading the protests, BJYM Jammu and Kashmir State president Arun Prabhat and scores of workers carried the tricolour, raised slogans, and burnt effigies of Abdullah. ''Farooq Abdullah has made derogatory statements against the army, casting aspersions on its character,'' Prabhat told reporters.

Similarly, Rashtriya Bajrang Dal activists, led by chairman Rakesh Kumar, held a rally demanding an apology from Abdullah. Currently, Abdullah is on a tour of Doda and Ramban districts to engage grassroots workers ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
