The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) kicked off its 'Satyamev Jayate' campaign on Tuesday, just days after senior leader Manish Sisodia was released from Tihar jail following a Supreme Court bail in excise policy-related cases.
AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi announced that all party leaders and workers will use the 'Satyamev Jayate' display picture (DP) on their social media accounts starting from 3 pm Tuesday. The campaign aims to convey a strong message to the BJP, asserting that despite harassment and jail terms, truth will ultimately prevail.
Atishi highlighted the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Sisodia as a victory for truth, noting that the former Deputy CM walked free after 17 months in prison. The DP features Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia against the backdrop of AAP colors, with the phrase 'Satyamev Jayate' inscribed in Hindi and the party's poll symbol, a broom, at the bottom. The phrase, part of a hymn from the Mundaka Upanishad, translates to 'truth alone triumphs.'
