The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is gearing up to unseat Santosh Danve, the sitting BJP MLA, from Bhokardan in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. This move follows the recent defeat of his father, Raosaheb Danve, in the Lok Sabha elections.
MVA's seat-sharing arrangement is yet to be finalized, but both Congress and NCP-SP are keen to contest from the constituency. Ramesh Chennithala, Congress in-charge for Maharashtra, has urged party members to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiments.
While the NCP stakes its claim for the seat, the BJP, optimistic about their welfare schemes, remains confident of retaining the constituency. The Danve family has dominated Bhokardan for decades, but rising issues like Maratha reservation might change the political dynamics.
