Political Rift Deepens: DMK and Allies Boycott Governor's Independence Day Event
The DMK announced it will boycott the 'At Home Reception' hosted by Governor R N Ravi at Raj Bhavan on Independence Day. The Congress and other DMK allies also decided to abstain, citing the Governor’s actions against Tamil Nadu’s interests. The AIADMK, the main opposition party, plans to attend.

The DMK declared on Wednesday that it will boycott the 'At Home Reception' hosted by Governor R N Ravi at the Raj Bhavan on Independence Day.
Speaking to PTI, the party's organisation secretary R S Bharathi confirmed that there will be no representation from the DMK at the event. Chief Minister M K Stalin, who is also the DMK chief, will announce the government's participation.
On Tuesday, the DMK's allies, including Congress, stated they would boycott the Independence Day tea party hosted by the Governor, accusing him of acting against the interests of Tamil Nadu. However, the main opposition party, AIADMK, intends to participate.
