Shiv Sena (UBT) has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech, describing it as 'boring' in its mouthpiece, Saamana. The editorial argued that the speech was more suited for an election campaign rather than a significant national occasion.

'Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his associates have never taken the country's independence seriously, which is why his speech lacked substance,' the editorial stated. It further added that Modi's comments about enemies entering the country were an insult to the Indian Army and security forces.

Saamana praised former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her courage and sacrifice, contrasting her legacy with Modi's leadership. The editorial also criticized Modi for ignoring the Manipur crisis and questioning his accomplishments over the last decade.
