Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday lambasted the BJP, accusing them of exploiting the Kolkata medic's rape and murder case for political gains. Responding to a question about the incident, Yadav remarked, 'Any incident involving a woman across the country is tragic. Action should be taken. Mamata Banerjee is a female chief minister, and she will take action. But the BJP is politicizing the issue.'
Yadav continued, 'The BJP has a penchant for political maneuvering in every incident, turning every situation into a means to draw political benefits while dishonoring others.'
Prior to his interaction with the media, Yadav paid tribute to freedom fighter Maharani Avantibai Lodhi by laying flowers at her statue, situated near the BJP state headquarters in Lucknow.
On the topic of the upcoming by-elections in UP, Yadav stated, 'Whenever by-elections come, the public will defeat the BJP.' By-elections are anticipated in 10 assembly seats in UP, with dates yet to be announced.
Yadav further criticized the BJP for using black money in elections and labeled the party as a conglomerate of corrupt individuals and those who issue empty promises. He emphasized the pressing issues of reducing inflation and creating jobs for the unemployed.
