Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday highlighted the positive reception of the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana by the women of the state, underscoring the government's commitment to empowering them. Fadnavis stated, "Certainly, our sisters have appreciated this scheme a lot. Our sisters have shown great participation in this scheme, and the government stands firmly behind them, committed to their empowerment."
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, a week after the launch of the 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Behna Yojana,' expressed satisfaction at witnessing the joy among beneficiaries. "We stand strong with these Bahini. We want to make them self-reliant," Shinde noted. He shared that many women intend to use the funds for educating their children, medical expenses, and enhancing their small businesses.
The scheme, launched on August 17, provides financial assistance to women aged 21-65 with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh, offering Rs 1,500 per month. Shinde mentioned in an ANI podcast that this initiative aims to support over one crore women in Maharashtra, with each eligible woman receiving direct financial aid. "If there are two sisters, they will receive Rs 3,000," he added. The 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Behna' scheme, inspired by Madhya Pradesh's 'Ladli Behna Yojana,' aims for long-term financial support for women in need.
