Lilita Das Elected Uncontested as Zilla Parishad Chairperson

Lilita Das of BJD has been elected uncontested as the chairperson of Zilla Parishad in Kendrapara. The position, reserved for Scheduled Caste women, had been vacant for four months after previous chairperson Gitanjali Sethi's resignation. Sethi resigned to contest the assembly polls, where she was not successful.

BJD’s Lilita Das was elected uncontested as the chairperson of Zilla Parishad in Kendrapara on Thursday.

The chairperson position, reserved for women from the Scheduled Caste category, had been vacant for four months after former chairperson Gitanjali Sethi resigned in April.

Sethi stepped down to contest the assembly polls as a BJP candidate from the Kendrapara seat but was unsuccessful.
