Kerala CM Urges Swift Action to Rescue Stranded Keralites in Russia
Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urgently requested the central government to arrange the repatriation of Keralites stranded in Russia due to a job scam. He also sought assistance in bringing back the body of Sandeep Chandran, a drone attack victim. Vijayan emphasized immediate rescue and investigation into unauthorized recruitment.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called on the central government to take swift measures to bring back Keralites stranded in Russia, victims of a job scam. In a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Vijayan specifically requested the repatriation of Sandeep Chandran's body, a Thrissur resident killed in a drone strike on the Russia-Ukraine border.
The chief minister's office confirmed that the Indian Embassy in Russia located Sandeep's body in Rostov. Vijayan urged that arrangements be made to expedite the repatriation process.
Furthermore, Vijayan highlighted the plight of Keralites Santhosh Kattukalayil, Shanmukhan, Sibi Susamma Babu, and Renin Punnekkel Thomas, who are stranded in a military camp in Luhansk under perilous conditions. He stressed the need for immediate rescue and called for an investigation into the illegal recruitment agencies responsible for the ordeal.
