In a dramatic turn of events, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma leveled serious allegations against the Jharkhand government on Friday, claiming that ex-Chief Minister Champai Soren was placed under surveillance for six months.
The accusations surfaced during a program where Soren officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), having recently resigned from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on August 28.
Sarma, who also serves as the BJP's co-in charge for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand, stated that such actions are unprecedented and warned current Chief Minister Hemant Soren of a strong electoral backlash.
