The National Conference has pledged to revoke the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) from Jammu and Kashmir and address the harassment faced by local youth if elected, announced party vice-president Omar Abdullah on Saturday.
Omar Abdullah, who had advocated for AFSPA's repeal during his tenure as chief minister, reiterated his commitment to this cause. He cited previous opposition from the Army as a significant challenge to the proposal's success.
Emphasizing the National Conference's dedication to its manifesto, Abdullah outlined plans for job creation, streamlined passport verifications, and ensuring access to essential resources for every household. He critiqued the BJP for rejecting the manifesto, stating that votes for any other party would indirectly strengthen the BJP.
