Congress MP Satpal Brahmachari has stated his willingness to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections if chosen by the party's high command. Speaking in New Delhi, Brahmachari affirmed, 'If the party wants an MP to contest, then Satpal Bhramachari is ready. I will follow the party's high command's decision.'
As Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini voiced confidence in winning the elections, he remarked, 'It will come out in the public in a few days. It is a matter of one month.' Meanwhile, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda asserted that BJP's leadership, including Khattar Sahib, knows that the BJP is losing ground and that Congress is poised to win.
After attending a sub-committee meeting in New Delhi, Hooda said, 'People of Haryana have decided that they will form a Congress government in the state. Both the BJP leadership and Khattar Sahib know this. BJP workers recognize that they are not receiving respect in the party and foresee no future in it.' On Thursday, Haryana Minister and BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala resigned from the Cabinet after being denied a ticket for the assembly polls.
In its first list of 67 candidates for the 90-member assembly released on Wednesday, the BJP omitted Chautala, who will now contest as an independent from the Rania seat. 'I will contest as an independent candidate from the Rania Assembly constituency. It is the decision of the people of my constituency. I have resigned from the minister's post. After I did not get the ticket, I took this decision,' Chautala told ANI.
The BJP has fielded Shishpal Kamboj for the Rania seat. Voting for the Haryana assembly polls is scheduled for October 5 with results to be counted on October 8. In parallel, Jammu and Kashmir will hold its elections on September 18, 25, and October 1, with results also to be announced on October 8. (ANI)
