A letter allegedly signed by Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Hospital, has surfaced, indicating an attempt to alter the crime scene where a trainee doctor was raped and murdered. The BJP has reiterated its demand for the Chief Minister's resignation and has called for a fair and thorough investigation.
The alleged letter, dated August 10, directed the hospital's Executive Engineer to urgently undertake repairs and renovations, including creating separate attached toilets in doctors' rooms across all departments. BJP National Spokesperson Amit Malviya highlighted this letter in a post on X, declaring it to be another piece of evidence implying that Dr. Ghosh, now arrested, ordered the renovation of a key location one day after the crime occurred.
Malviya accused the West Bengal government and the hospital administration of lying about the renovation timeline, further alleging a collusion to destroy evidence. Echoing Malviya's claims, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari urged for an investigation into the Chief Minister's call records. Meanwhile, the victim's family has expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing investigation, accusing the police of negligence and misconduct.
