AIMIM has extended an alliance proposal to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), with a critical deadline set for September 9. Party leader Imtiaz Jaleel stated that failure to respond would prompt AIMIM to contest independently.
Jaleel emphasized that AIMIM wants to focus on seats where it holds significant influence, stressing that preventing the BJP-led Mahayuti from forming the government in Maharashtra is crucial. Despite ideological differences between AIMIM and Shiv Sena (UBT), the move is seen as a necessary political strategy for the welfare of farmers and the state's residents.
He noted that AIMIM has already initiated discussions with MVA leaders from Congress, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP), but no resolution has been reached. Jaleel expressed concern about a potential exclusion from the political alliance and its implications on both AIMIM and MVA in the upcoming elections.
