Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to renowned Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' on his birth anniversary, quoting lines from his celebrated poem 'Rashmirathi' to deliver a subtle critique aimed at the Opposition.

In a social media post, Adityanath cited Dinkar's verses, "Paate hain sammaan tapobal se bhootal pe shoor, 'jaati-jaati' ka shor machaate kewal kayar kroor," highlighting that brave individuals earn respect through their strength, whereas cowards make noise about caste. This pointed remark comes amidst an ongoing feud between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party following the police encounter of Mangesh Yadav, an accused in the Sultanpur robbery case.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of orchestrating a 'fake encounter' driven by caste bias, an allegation the police have denied. The BJP countered by accusing the SP of identifying criminals based on caste. 'Rashmirathi', written by Dinkar in 1952, remains one of his most acclaimed works. Dinkar, a Padma Bhushan awardee, was born on September 23, 1908, and passed away at the age of 66 in 1974.
