Delhi Assembly Sees Resignations and Disqualifications

Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel announced the resignations and disqualifications of four MLAs, including three from AAP. Former Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri resigned after becoming a Lok Sabha MP. Two AAP MLAs were disqualified, and the assembly's strength has reduced to 66 members.

On the first day of the Delhi Assembly session, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel announced the resignations and disqualifications of four MLAs, including three from the ruling AAP.

Goel stated that former Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri resigned on June 18 after assuming the role of Lok Sabha MP from South Delhi. AAP MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam also tendered his resignation, which was accepted on September 22.

Additionally, AAP MLAs Raaj Kumar Anand and Kartar Singh were disqualified under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution, effective from May 6 and July 10, respectively. The vacancies have been notified to the Election Commission.
