Opposition YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on Friday that he has postponed his visit to the Tirupati Lord Venkateshwara Temple indefinitely. The decision comes amid growing demands from NDA allies in Andhra Pradesh for him to declare his faith before entering the shrine.
Jagan's Tirupati tour had been heavily publicized as part of YSRCP's call for prayers in temples. This move was aimed at atoning for TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's contentious statements about the quality of Tirupati laddus.
Reddy lambasted Naidu's governance, dubbing it ‘Rakshasa Rajyam’ (kingdom of demons), and accused BJP of ignoring the laddu issue. He stressed his devotion to Venkateswara Swamy and added that the ghee rejected by TTD was never used in making Laddu Prasadam. Reddy also mentioned heavy police deployment preventing his supporters from visiting the temple, criticizing it as a diversion from Naidu's administrative failures.
