Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently unveiled development projects worth Rs 83,700 crore in Jharkhand. However, Congress leaders immediately criticized him, questioning unfulfilled promises and unpaid dues to the state.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh accused Modi of giving Jharkhand 'step-motherly treatment,' alleging that Rs 1.36 lakh crore owed to the state remained unpaid. He emphasized the outstanding coal royalties and other financial obligations toppling lakhs of crores.
Ramesh pointed out discrepancies in housing benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and highlighted the lack of promised educational institutions. He stated that despite the PM's promises, many initiatives, including engineering colleges, remain unestablished.
