The Jharkhand assembly polls have entered a crucial phase, with 634 candidates filing their nominations for the second phase. A total of 297 aspirants submitted paperwork for 38 seats slated for elections on November 20.
The scrutiny of nominations is scheduled for Wednesday, and withdrawal is possible until November 1. Notably, BJP candidate Gamliyel Hembrom has emerged as a contender against Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the Barhait constituency.
The polls will unfold in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting set for November 23. In the first phase, 805 nominees from 43 constituencies filed, with 62 candidates rejected during scrutiny.
