The Aam Aadmi Party intensified its criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, following his assertion that the Delhi and West Bengal governments have not implemented the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme due to 'political interests'.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal accused the Prime Minister of playing politics with public health in the national capital. During a press conference, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar labeled the Ayushman Bharat scheme a 'scam', suggesting that Modi should examine and adopt Delhi's health model.
Kakkar highlighted discrepancies within the scheme, claiming that out of 27,000 hospitals enlisted, a significant number only exist on paper. While Modi expressed disappointment over healthcare for the elderly in Delhi and West Bengal, AAP maintains that a nationwide adoption of Delhi's model would serve the citizens better.
