At the 69th Kannada Rajyotsava celebration held at Bengaluru's Kanteerava Stadium, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar declared the state's commitment to making Kannada the 'language of life.' Expressing the importance of cultural pride, he urged citizens to hoist the flag high in honor of their motherland.
Reflecting on Karnataka's 50-year history since it was named, Shivakumar celebrated the state’s natural and cultural beauty, while lauding Kuvempu's universal message of 'Vishwamanava' that continues to guide today. He reinforced the necessity for schools, colleges, and private firms to observe Kannada Rajyotsava within their establishments as a mark of respect.
Highlighting Karnataka's unique cultural identity, Shivakumar noted the state’s Naada Geethe and flag as symbols of diversity and peace. As Kannada boasts a 2000-year-old legacy, both he and CM Siddaramiah appealed for its propagation and protection globally, urging citizens to inject pride into daily life.
