In the aftermath of significant electoral losses in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party's chief, is confronting internal discord within the Punjab faction of his party. His recent meeting with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and other MLAs underscored these rising tensions, prompting allegations from BJP's RP Singh about unrest within the state's administration.
Compounding the issue, Singh highlighted that four of the 94 MLAs called for the Delhi meeting were absent. One MLA even demanded the removal of Mann as Chief Minister, reflecting the party's internal struggles. Meanwhile, Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa hinted that the hastily convened meeting signified potential fractures within AAP, suggesting imminent mid-term polls.
AAP's political adversaries have also seized this moment to criticize Kejriwal. BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused him of instigating division to gain power in Punjab, while Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa claimed that over 30 AAP legislators were considering a shift to Congress. In response, CM Mann questioned the coherence of Congress in Delhi and defended Punjab's law and order situation.
