Senior farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa was taken to a government hospital in Patiala after facing cardiac issues at the Khanauri protest site. Early Wednesday, the octogenarian reported experiencing heart problems, which led to his swift transport by ambulance for medical attention.

Doctors at the site, including volunteers from an NGO, assessed Sirsa and detected low blood pressure. An electrocardiogram confirmed a heart issue. Sirsa, who has been active in the ongoing farmer's protest, is now under observation at Rajindra Hospital's Emergency ward in Patiala.

The protests coincide with a 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' event marking a year since the demonstrations began. Notably, Jagjit Singh Dallewal continues his hunger strike in pursuit of a legal guarantee for a minimum support price for crops, despite ongoing discussions between farmer representatives and the central government.
