Macron Calls for Zelenskiy-Led Ukraine Peace Talks
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that only President Zelenskiy can negotiate peace for Ukraine, warning against a forced settlement. He urged European involvement in security discussions, following talks by U.S. President Trump with leaders involved in the ongoing conflict with Russia.
French President Emmanuel Macron has insisted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is the only figure who can strike a peace deal with Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine. Macron warned that any imposed peace would be detrimental to all, including the United States.
Macron, speaking at the Elysee Palace, stressed the importance of President Putin showing genuine willingness for a ceasefire. This development follows U.S. President Donald Trump's discussions with both Putin and Zelenskiy, aimed at initiating peace talks.
Amidst growing concerns in Ukraine about a potential compromise from the Trump administration, Macron highlighted the significant role of Europe in securing a stable future for Ukraine and called for strengthened regional security guarantees.
