The United States and India have unveiled an ambitious 10-year defence partnership to bolster collaboration and co-production of critical military equipment. This agreement, announced by President Trump and Prime Minister Modi, looks to boost military hardware sales and possibly supply India's military with millions of dollars in advanced US technology such as F-35 stealth jets.

Following comprehensive talks, the two leaders stressed breaking new ground to support the US and Indian militaries' overseas deployments in the Indo-Pacific. Key focus areas include logistics and intelligence sharing, as well as new procurements like Javelin anti-tank guided missiles and Stryker infantry combat vehicles.

The move comes amidst rising tensions with China in the region, reinforcing the allies’ commitment to a dynamic defence relationship. Plans to enhance cooperation across multiple military domains, including space and air defense, and the establishment of the Autonomous Systems Industry Alliance to foster technological exchanges were also highlighted.
